Ten Years at Microsoft A Journey Shaped by People and Purpose

1 Mar

Celebrating ten years at Microsoft is a moment to pause, reflect, and express gratitude for the people and experiences that shaped my journey.

Reaching this milestone with Microsoft, my dream employer, is deeply meaningful. I started as a Premier Field Engineer (PFE) for Hyper‑V, then a feature of Windows Server and now a foundational building block of Azure and modern platforms and applications. From there, I transitioned into the Solutions Sales Team Unit (STU), where I continue to serve today.

Looking back, I feel fortunate. The people I’ve worked with and the talent I’ve learned from have shaped not only my career, but also how I think about challenges, leadership, and growth.

I’m grateful to my friend Nasos Kladakis for believing in me long before Microsoft, and to Ioannis Baniotis for trusting me with my first opportunity as a PFE. Nikos Anastopoulos played a key role in my transition into sales, while Katerina Sourouni helped me pause and reflect on where I wanted to go next. I’m also thankful to Tomaz Valjavec, Sevket Guller, and Eugene Piric for opening the door to regional role and broadening my perspective beyond borders.

Ali Tahmasebi has been a constant source of inspiration, showing that empathy, care for people, and strong business judgment are not trade‑offs, but force multipliers. Theodosis Michalakopoulos and Yanna Andronopoulou created an environment of trust and highlighted the responsibility and privilege of serving Greece, Cyprus, and Malta.

A defining chapter of this journey has been my team and the trust placed in me. I am deeply grateful to Ali Tahmasebi for believing in me and appointing me as a Specialist Manager, a moment that came with responsibility, humility, and purpose. Leading a team through periods of constant change, shifting priorities, and uncertainty tested us all, but it also shaped us. Together we navigated ambiguity, stayed focused on customers, supported one another, and kept raising the bar even when the path was not always clear, with the continued support, guidance, and inspiration of Nikos Makris throughout this journey. I am proud of the resilience, adaptability, and care this team consistently demonstrates, and thankful for the trust we built by showing up for each other every day.

As I look ahead, I remain grateful, curious, and committed to learning, growing, and empowering others to achieve more through technology. That is the impact that truly matters.

Here’s to the years ahead!
